Sometimes Hotmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or Gmail may send emails to the spam folder due to their algorithms.
Here's how you can fix this:
How to Avoid the Spam Folder for Hotmail, Outlook, and Gmail
Keeping your emails out of the spam folder ensures you stay connected with the updates, promotions, and insights you care about. Follow these tips to make sure emails from Marcia’s Looks and other important senders land in your inbox, not your spam folder.
1. Add Us to Your Contacts
The easiest way to ensure our emails are delivered to your inbox is by adding our email address to your contact list.
Our official email for notifications is alerts@marciaslooks.com
Hotmail & Outlook
- Open an email from us.
- Click on the sender’s name or email address at the top.
- Select “Add to Contacts” or “Add to Safe Senders” from the menu.
- Save the contact details.
Gmail
- Open an email from us.
- Hover over our name or email address.
- Click “Add to Contacts” in the popup window.
- Gmail will automatically save us as a trusted sender.
2. Mark Emails as “Not Spam”
If our email accidentally lands in your spam folder, here’s how to fix it:
Hotmail & Outlook
- Navigate to your Spam or Junk folder.
- Locate our email.
- Right-click and select “Not Junk” or “Move to Inbox”.
Gmail
- Go to your Spam folder.
- Open our email.
- Click “Report Not Spam” at the top of the message.
3. Create a Filter to Always Keep Our Emails
Setting up filters ensures our emails are always directed to your inbox.
Hotmail & Outlook
- Go to Settings (gear icon) > View all Outlook settings.
- Navigate to Mail > Rules.
- Select Add New Rule:
- Name your rule (e.g., “Marcia’s Looks Emails”).
- Set the condition to “From” and enter our email address.
- Set the action to “Move to Inbox”.
- Save your settings.
Gmail
- Click the Settings icon (gear) and choose “See All Settings”.
- Navigate to the Filters and Blocked Addresses tab.
- Select Create a New Filter:
- In the From field, enter our email address.
- Click Create Filter and check “Never send it to Spam”.
- Save your filter.
4. Check Your Promotions Tab (Gmail Only)
Gmail sometimes categorizes emails under the Promotions tab. To move us to your primary inbox:
- Drag our email from Promotions to Primary.
- When prompted, click “Yes” to apply this change to future emails.
5. Whitelist Our Email Address
Adding us to your email service’s whitelist ensures we’re recognized as a safe sender.
Hotmail & Outlook
- Go to Settings > View All Outlook Settings.
- Navigate to Junk Email.
- Under Safe Senders and Domains, add our email address.
- Save your changes.
Gmail
Gmail doesn’t use a traditional whitelist, but following the steps above for filters and contacts effectively creates one.
6. Keep Your Inbox Clean
Having too many unread emails or spam signals can increase the chances of legitimate emails being flagged. Regularly delete or unsubscribe from unwanted messages to keep your inbox manageable.
