Goals for Marcia’s Looks Stylist Level System

The Marcia’s Looks Stylist Level System supports the salon by allowing stylists to advance in their careers as they accomplish specific targets.
Below are the parameters and benchmarks you can implement with a team member to support their progress to the next level. As you use and/or edit them, be sure that what you create is specific and measurable.
The more clarity they have about the goal, the better their opportunity to advance.

Level 1 (Junior)

Entry level with 1200 hours completed and licensed by DBPR.
Bring in an average of 6 new clients per month.
In-house classes, webinars, outside education, and trade shows.
Achieve consistent booking (6 months) of 40% or greater.
Redo’s do not exceed 6 in any six-month period.
Consistently meet at least one benchmark.

Level 2 (Stylist)

Minimum one year of experience as a stylist in a salon environment or technical skills demonstrated.
Bring in an average of 10 new clients per month.
In-house classes, webinars, outside education, and trade shows.
Achieve booking consistently (6 months) of 50% or greater.
Redo’s do not exceed 4 in any six-month period.
Consistently meet at least two benchmarks.

Level 3 (Senior)

Two years of experience as a stylist in a salon environment or technical skills demonstrated.
In-house classes, webinars, outside education, and trade shows.
Mentoring of 1 Junior and 1 Stylist.
Teach at least one monthly in-house class (concentration on your strength).
Consistently meet at least three benchmarks.
Achieve consistent booking of 70% or greater.
Redo’s do not exceed 3 in any six-month period.

Level 4 (Master)

Five years of experience as a stylist emphasizing color, haircuts, straightening, or hair extensions.
In-house classes, webinars, outside education, and trade shows
Mentoring 1 Junior Stylist and 2 Stylists.
Teach two monthly in-house classes (technique, formulation, color correction, SPC, and foils).
Consistently meet at least four benchmarks.
Achieve consistent booking of 70% or greater.
Redo’s do not exceed 2 in any six-month period.
